Colca - Titicaca - Machu Picchu 10 Days

With this luxury program, you will have the chance to visit the South of Peru, starting by Lima “The City of Kings” to then go to Arequipa and visit the amazing Colca Canyon. After Arequipa we will visit Puno and its wonderful Titicaca Lake.Then we will visit the majestic Incan city of Cusco and the different archeological complexes that surround it. We will crown our trip with our visit to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu.  We have developed this tour to make of your vacations in Peru a deeply unforgettable and wonderful experience.

Day 1 Arrival to Lima
Once you arrived in Peru our staff will be waiting for you and give you the welcome at the airport, then you will be transferred to the chosen hotel. After resting for a while you will start your tour in Lima visiting the most interesting places in downtown. Lima is known as the" City of the Kings and boats many beautiful historic places to visit such as: the Cathedral, Pizarro's Tomb, the Catacombs of San Francisco, Congress, the Palace of Torre Tagle and some residential and modern neighborhoods, such as San Isidro and Miraflores, not to mention the bohemian district of Barranco. We will visit as well the Huaca Pucllana which is a pre-Incan pyramidal building that had administrative and religious purposes. After, we will visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, where you will find a great quantity of pre-Incan pottery including the biggest collection of erotic Huacos in the world.

  • Overnight in Lima.

Day 2 Lima /Arequipa
After breakfast at your Hotel, our staff will pick you up from your Hotel and transfer to Lima’s airport to beard your flight away to Arequipa. Once in Arequipa Airport, our staff will be waiting for you and they will assist you by transferring you to your respective Hotel. The rest of the morning will be free so you can visit the surrounding areas of your hotel by your own. In the afternoon, our tour around Arequipa, so called “La ciudad Blanca” (The white city) will visit: the Main Square, the cathedral, the Cloisters, La compañia de Jesus Church, The Colonial District of Yanahuara, San Lazaro neighborhood, and the residential area of Selva Alegre. We will also visit the Santa Catalina Monastery which was closed for almost 400 years and now shows us its passages, plazas and gardens of great beauty. (B)

  • Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 3 Arequipa / Colca Canyon
Once in the Colca Valley and after climbing the Chachani volcano we will be able to admire the Misti and Picchu Picchu Volcanoes. Then we will walk through the vicuñas reservation of Pampa Cañahuas where we are going to appreciate these beautiful animals running free in their natural environment. We will also see some quaint little villages around us. Afterwards, we will have a lunch break while going to the lodge. After arriving to our lodge you will have the rest of the afternoon free to rest and enjoy the accommodation or optionally you may visit the local hot springs. (B)

  • Overnight in Colca Valley.

Day 4 Colca Canyon / Puno
You will have a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Then we will start our tour during the morning. We will walk to the Condor Cross viewpoint, an amazing spot from which you will be able to appreciate the flight of the condors; these huge and wonderful Andean birds are symbol of the Andes Mountain Range. You will also appreciate the canyon and how deep it is. The Colca’s canyon is considered as one of the deepest in the world. 
After leaving the view point, we will visit the towns of Maca and Yanque where we can find typical colonial architecture.  After lunch, we will depart to Puno with our private transportation. This trip takes around 5 hours and once you arrive in Puno you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel. (B)

Day 5 Puno (you can extend your tour for 2 days with Homestay)
You will have a complete day tour to explore Titicaca Lake of Puno. Firstly we will visit “Los Uros” which are floating islands with very friendly inhabitants; incredibly these islands are hand made with totora reeds. After, you will visit Taquile Island, a place stopped in time, and whose inhabitants still live under ancestral customs and traditions. You will also have the great opportunity to explore the island and have the best views of the whole lake. We include a lunch box while we are visiting these places.  Return to the Puno in the afternoon. (B, L)

Day 6 Puno – Cusco
Our trip to Puno is by bus. During this trip, we will stop by certain spots to admire the natural and historic attractions that this route offers. We will visit Andahuaylillas town and its beautiful chapel, and then Racchi or Temple of Viracocha (Incan deity). Afterwards we will enjoy our lunch and we will be able to witness the amazing landscapes of La Raya, the highest and frontier point between Cusco and Puno. Before our final destination we will visit the Pucara Museum and you will have the chance to get one of the local classic ceramic bulls. The arriving to Puno will be, approximately at the end of the afternoon. (B, L)

Day 7 Cusco
After having breakfast, we pick up from your hotel for our exclusive combined special city tour (walking and by van) and nearby ruins on a group basis.  Leaving early by vehicle we wind our way on the road to Sacsayhuaman, a vast fortress built on three platforms, overlooking the city of Cusco. From here we continue to Kenko, a site of worship with a high rock carved into the shape of a Puma which dominates a series of canals, passageways painted with animals. Return to Cusco, and visit the main sites and streets around the Plaza de Armas and the Sun Temple of Koricancha inside the Santo Domingo Temple. At the end of the walk through the city you will end at your lodging facility. (B) In the afternoon

Day 8 Sacred Valley
One of the most spectacular days of the tour takes us through the Sacred Valley of the Incas; once an important source of food for the Inca, the Sacred Valley is a lush agricultural region that continues to supply the city of Cusco with much of its produce. As it is 600m lower than Cusco, temperatures are on average 5 degrees Cº higher in the Sacred Valley.
Our travels will bring us through the major archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. At Pisac, an optional two hour or 5km hike will allow us to fully appreciate the Incan city nestled high in the Andean range. Later, the colorful artesian market at Pisac will no doubt be a highlight for those in search of unique souvenirs.
The day trip finishes in the picturesque village of Ollantaytambo, location of another large Inca site. This major ruin is known as the best surviving example of Inca urban planning and engineering. But more than that, Ollantaytambo is a living breathing Inca City. Here we catch our train to Machu Picchu. (B)

  • Overnight in Aguas Calientes (Altitude: 2000m, 6500ft)

Day 9 Machu Picchu/ Cusco
A pre-dawn start from takes us by bus to Machu Picchu. Enjoy the ruins in virtual solitude for the first hour until sunrise. Make the hour-long hike up to the ‘Intipunku’ or Sun Gate. See Machu Picchu in all its glory and discover Machu Picchu on an expert 2-hour private guided tour. Then, free time at site to explore, rest, meditate or simply chill out in the ruins.
Climb Wayna Picchu (Young Peak 2 hrs, not included), hike to the Moon Temple (2 1/2 hrs), or venture to the Inca Draw Bridge! There is no shortage of things so see and do in Machu Picchu. Generally we’ll have lunch in Aguas Calientes although it is your choice, afternoon train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. (B)

Day 10 Cusco - Departure Day
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima or to continue with an extension program. We can arrange a later flight date out of Cusco or additional post tour accommodation in Cusco or Lima upon client request. (B)
